Neostrata Acne Skincare

 

For my must shop, this would be my personal share about what to do to fight acne during winter. Since I came from a very hot country then transfer to Winnipeg which is the coldest city I’ve ever been. It’s a given that there will be some changes. The reaction to my face was really severe to the point that I have no idea what to do.

I went to a pharmacy and asked for a skin consultation. Since dermatologist are pretty expensive here (which was my last choice if this doesn’t have an effect) getting an advice from the pharmacist might help…even for a little bit. After some skin test and the long interview, the pharmacist recommended me Taro Clindamycin as a toner then the Neostrata line.

I was really scared about using the Neostrata since this thing is very new to me and my face is super sensitive.

She told me to give it a try and observe what would be the effect on my skin.

Both products have salicylic acid and glycolic acid so it does target acne. The facial wash is like a gel like blue substance that’s quite unique. I love how it turns into a creamy texture once you massage it into your face and cleanses away all makeup, dirt, and oil.

On the other hand, The Neostrata Acne Solution is a highly concentrated toner that specifically targets the big zits and helps to unclog those dirty pores. This solution is so strong that it stings! I advise to used it only to affected area and only once a day at nighttime. The only disadvantage of this product is it’s extremely drying. My face is peeling (which is a good sign) and totally dry that you need loads of moisturizer to put on before going out.

It’s been three weeks since using these products and I can see the improvement on my skin. I got less breakout now and some acne scars that I have to whiten but thanks to this line, my face is getting better.

Hi guys! Sorry for not updating anything on the blog. I was really busy with my finals, and looking for part-time work (which I have now….wink*) that I got no time to post. Now that my exams are FINALLY OVER….and CHRISTMAS is near… I got loads of time to update my blog.

It’s super cute and I think I need pink stuff this winter to brighten the gloomy aura here and to amp my dark clothes.

I went to a thrift store near Pembina Highway (cuz…I’m really thrifty) and saw this FOREVER 21 jacket in True Value (brand new..with original tag!) that cost $13 dollars…. I LOVE THRIFT STORES!

If you’re broke (like me) that seriously need to give gifts this Christmas, the very inexpensive item that you could give and will still appreciate your love ones is a handmade gift.

Like for instance, BATH BOMBS

HERE’S HOW TO MAKE:

1 cup of Baking Soda

1/2 cup of Citric Acid (you can buy this on Amazon)

1/2 cup of Epson Salt (I choose lavender)

1/2 cornstarch (our binding ingredient)

1 tsp water (or you could use a water bottle spray, It’s much easier)

2 tsp essential oil (you can use any scent that you like)

3 tsp of coconut oil or olive oil

food coloring (any color you want)

Bath Bomb Mold (e.g cookie cutter, plastic cups or clear ornaments)

Mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl. (baking soda,citric,cornstarch and Epson salt)

In a separate container, mix the liquid ingredients together then add the food coloring you want. Don’t forget to add your desired essential oil ( I chose lavender to relieve stress and perfect for relaxation)

Slowly add the liquid mixture to the dry mixture so that the baking soda won’t react easily. Mix it with your hand until you reach to a wet sand-like texture. That means it’s ready to mold!

Put the mixture in a mold and press it tightly with a spoon or by hand. Make sure you press it real tight.

Although the mold that I bought was not really good in making bath bombs so I failed for the first try….

I made my second attempt and this time I used the plastic cup in shaping the bath bombs… good thing it worked. 

Leave it hardened for 1-2 days then wrap it up with a clear plastic.

You can customize this whatever you like and add some decorations like a pine tree leaves or some rose petals to make it look more festive.

I am seriously addicted to this drama.

The story is about love, friendship,sports and achieving dreams.  It’s not your typical Korean drama.

Inspired by Olympic gold medalist Jang Mi-ran first love, an uplifting coming of age story about a 21-year-old weightlifting student experiencing love for the very first time.

Plus, Nam Joo Hyuk’s eyes are so charming. His acting immensely improved since School 2015

Romwe Clothing Haul

One thing that I love about in purchasing from online stores is mostly the EVERYDAY SALES, the  BUY ONE GET ONE or FREE SHIPPING. (while lying down on bed clicking your mouse…easy breezy)

When I first log in to Romwe, I saw every product on sale. It was 60-70% off to items (which btw, Romwe is having a Thanksgiving sale right now) and as a new member, you’ll also get another discount + free shipping which means you can buy more!

Here’s what I got:

• A pouty anime backpack
• Blue striped boat neck side slit button top
• V-design white sweatshirt
• Khaki overall dress
• Pink round shades

Personal thoughts:

Overall, the items that I got from Romwe is really cute and everything looks like in the pictures. The material of the clothes is good and some of the sizes are accurate.

The one thing that I’m worried about is the backpack since it’s only made of nylon and the quality is really low ( like it could snap anytime if you put too much stuff)

As for the shipping, it took me two months to receive the package and no update on the tracking number except it says “shipping to Canada from China”.

When I got the package, there was no thrills or frills about the packaging and no label tag at all. Just plain white plastic. It was not what I expected and no effort at all.

All in all, I’m pleased that my first shopping experience in ROMWE turned out to be positive. (although the shipping sucks)

Will I shop in ROMWE again?

Maybe. But keep in mind that the products here are not that high quality especially the bags. Always make sure to check your measurements first then compare to the size charts before purchasing.

Hello, Guys! I am so sorry for not posting anything for the last two months. As you can see, I’ve started studying at the University of Manitoba this Fall as an International Student and it was challenging since I’m new with the “studying” and “reviewing” from my last school, which was 5 years ago.

Moving on, there are so many things and stories that I wanna share with you guys! Here’s the highlight of my November Must Shop, Must Share, and Must Watch.

Must Shop: Shoppers Beauty Haul

I am so lucky to have Shoppers Mart as my neighbor… it’s like the Mecca of Drugstore Makeup! I can go there every day to spend all my allowance just for makeup. (kidding…I gotta save)

So here’s what I got:

Nyx Eyebrow Gel, Nyx Liquid Suede, Nyx Regular Lipstick and Nyx Matte Lipstick

The Nyx Eyebrow Gel is one of my favorites right now. This small tube comes with greatness!

This is a highly pigmented brow gel so you’ll only need a small dot of this and angle brush in doing your eyebrows. It’s super blendable and smudge free!

It provides a long wear result so no need for a retouch. The Nyx gel comes in five shades: blonde, chocolate, brunette and black. I got mine in chocolate.

Nyx Matte Cream Istanbul

The most talked about lip cream where lipstick and cream combined.

The only problem that I have with this product is its packaging. It is so small and the price is almost the same with Nyx Liquid Suede.

I guess the main purpose of its small packaging is to collect and spend more on different shades. Which I would totally do.

 

Ogx Argan Oil Morocco

My favorite hair product right now. This little one is my go to product and used to tame my frizzy hair after a shower.

Eight Tips on How To Travel in Style

Everyone wants to travel in style for a perfect #ootd that you want to share with your friends while on vacation. Let’s face it, we want to look stylish and flaunt like a model while sightseeing, so here’s how to travel in style like a fashion blogger:

Tip no. 1: Plan Ahead

I always plan ahead on what to wear whenever I travel abroad. I usually visualize what top and bottom can go well together and plan one week before the trip so that I can have plenty of choices and outfit ideas that I can come up with.

When it comes to packing clothes, I like to keep it neutral and classic.  Stick with the clothes you already love and pair it with something new or something that will perfectly match it.

Tip no. 2 : Dress according to weather.

You don’t wanna pack a tank top and shorts in an 8-degree weather right? Check the weather forecast first and plan from there on what kind of clothes you wanna bring and start brainstorming on your upcoming #ootds.

Jumpsuits and denim dress are the safest outfits that you can bring on your vacation. You can pair your jumpsuits with a leather jacket and boots if it’s a bit chilly or a denim dress  that match your favorite sandals if you plan to go to the beach.

Tip no. 3 : Comfy at its best- Sneakers

Finding a balance between comfort and fashion is the key when searching for travel outfit. When searching for a footwear, you don’t need to pack many kinds if you have one kicks that say comfort and chic. The all-white sneaker is a must have to pack since it’s very versatile and can pair well with jeans, skirts and beyond. It is the perfect footwear if you need some serious #ootd but still finding it comfortable to wear.

Tip no. 4: Statement Bag

A bag with multiple pockets helps things organized. You can put everything that you need on those pockets like your passport, ticket and travel documents to show at the airport. No more hassle!

 

Tip no. 5 : A Leather Jacket

When you are traveling to cooler climates like Baguio or Tagaytay or wherever, it is best to pack a leather jacket to keep you warm especially on ber months.

It’s my never fail go-to jacket for all sorts of occasions. It never goes out of style and it’s best to pair with almost anything.

Tip no. 6 : Have Fun!

Wizarding World of Harry Potter : Osaka Japan

Hi Peeps! Here is my most awaited post about my Japan Series featuring the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios Osaka.

I’m a big Potterhead. I remember the excitement back then on watching Harry Potter films and read all the seven books.

I used to make love letters to Daniel Radcliffe himself. I recall all the embarrassing postcards, stickers and my “I LOVE YOU DAN with a lipstick mark” that I mail to Leavesden Studios. (I know… it’s ridiculous … I was twelve, okay? HAHAHA at least I got a newsletter with his black and white picture in return)

 

Anyway, Harry Potter made my life magical from elementary to high school days and it’s an every potter heads dream to visit Hogwarts someday.

So, when I found out that there is a new HP Theme park in Asia, we’ve decided to choose Osaka as our main trip instead of Tokyo!

 

We’ve visited Universal Studios on a weekday to avoid the large crowd. (No. 1 tip.. avoid going on weekends) It’s still pretty crowded even if it’s Monday and most of the park guest had only one goal in mind upon entering the amusement park, and that is the Harry Potter Area. So after we got all the tickets and entered USJ, we dash all the way into the dark forest!

phew… we got in early. No need for timed entry tickets.

The Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is inside the Hogwarts Castle. We waited for like an hour just to enter the castle (patience is a must in this ride). Nevertheless, the ride is so worth it and you’ll never get bored in line since you can see the glory of the castle outside and some special surprises that you can see upon entering Hogwarts.

So, don’t miss it!

That moment when you realize that you’re moving to a different continent in ONE WEEK!  I am panicking right now.

Yes, dear readers, the very reason for my slow updates in my blog is because of my moving to Canada. I got accepted to the University of Manitoba with a business management course that would take a year or more to complete and an internship. I’m very excited about my journey and nervous about what will happen and if I can survive being away with my family…

It hurts to stay away from them and I just can’t imagine myself talking to them on the phone or skyping and not in person. If only Canada is only an hour away from home.. but the google map failed me and says 14 hours by plane.

This new journey seems difficult but I am very thankful to my mom by always there to support me and help me in my needs. I know this time I also owe it to her but I’m hoping to repay it twice what she gave and will strive harder to achieve her dream.

The most talked about movie in Korea with over 10 million viewers  and one of the films presented at the Cannes Film Festival.

New action thriller film Train to Busan is about the passengers of one KTX bullet train and their struggle to survive from the zombie outbreak. 

On board are several strangers including Gong Yoo (Coffee Prince) who must unite with others against the hordes of zombies.
